2002

The longest ride of my life is the 275km route that I did in 2002 from Compiegne to Roubaix.  The day before the professionals set off for the 100th Paris-Roubaix. My buddies and I (l-r Andrew Hardhart, David Sams, Greg Gretsch, Ken McKee and me at the Roubaix velodrome).

Johan Museeuw won the 2002 edition, but a 21 year old Tom Boonen caught every ones attention.

As I watched the 2013 edition of this race this morning on TV I got the itch to get back to Paris-Roubaix.  Not only was it a great achievement 11 years ago, but it was a great memory and a great time suffering with friends.  Maybe in 2014?
